The three primary goals or goals of the Jonesville Academy continue through high school: Be the Scholar. Be the Leader. Be the Change. With this in mind, the high school cohorts, beginning with the Freshman Academy in fall 2024 provide 3.0 hours of personal development and an applied-learning curriculum. The high program is designed to create opportunities for scholars to build confidence in the classroom and in social settings and further advance their academic performance and develop their leadership and life skills to strengthen college and/or career readiness. As a program of both Boys to Men Leadership Group and For a Real Change, the high school cohorts mold the men behind the tie preparing them to create real (meaningful) change in their personal lives and community.
Application Process and Timeline
Currently, the Freshman and Sophmore Co-Horts are limited to 15 scholars in each group who can actively participate in the Academy. The application process includes a completed enrollment form. Scholars may have to participate in an interview process.
Jonesville Academy Meeting Dates for the Freshman Academy Co-Hort
October 2024 – May 2025
Meetings take place on Saturdays, 8:30am – 12:30pm*
Fall 2024 – October 26*, November 9, November 23, December 7, and December 14 (holiday project/event).
Spring 2025 – January 19 (tentative Tie Ceremony, January 25, February 8, February 22, March 8, March 22, April 5, April 19, and May 3* (if needed as a makeup day).

* If your scholar is interested in also joining WKU’s Young Male Leadership Academy, that will not impact your scholar’s enrollment in Jonesville Academy.
