When is the application deadline for youth to apply?
When is the deadline to apply? Is there a fee?
Parents were encouraged to complete the enrollment application by April 1st each year. Applications will be accepted after April 1 depending on enrollment numbers. View the Enrollment Form page for the current deadline. There is a $25 fee for those accepted into the program.
Will everyone who applies be accepted into the program?
The Jonesville Academy will have a select number of youth per age group from grades 3-12. Applications are not accepted for new scholars in grades 10-12, only re-enrolled students are eligible.
When will the program start?
The Jonesville Academy traditionally begins on the second Saturday in September with meetings every other week until May.
Is the program only open to Warren County youth?
The Jonesville Academy is created for youth in Bowling Green and Warren County. A limited number of spaces are available for youth in surrounding areas.
Will every young man in the program have a mentor?
The Jonesville Academy recruits mentors for the program with the goal of having 2-4 journeymen and journeywomen per grade group.
Where will activities take place?
Jonesville Academy is expected to continue meeting every other Saturday, and locations are scheduled based on the activities. Meeting spaced is reserved at WKU, the SOKY Skills Factory, and with other local businesses and organizations. Parents/guardians are informed well in advance of the meeting location. The group mentoring activities will take place at different locations in Bowling Green. Examples include attending a WKU football game, STEM Day, or a Hot Rods game.
